As the world around me crumbled
I sought refuge in the wood
Under trees of oak that rumbled
I felt safe and sound and good
Then lost at midnight stillness
Came a cold and quiet call
That beckoned me to illness
In a dark and silent pall
Twas there I saw her image
Set in light in Deadwood Park
I followed to the cliff edge
And committed to the dark
While spiraling yet downward
And aware of my lost choice
I deeply breathed her spirit
And prepared to give it voice
I walked toward the boundary
Of the wood which now seemed frail
And in a moments notice
Lost all traces of the trail
“Tis I” my throat did call out
In a voice familiar not
“I summon those before me
Light the exit I have sought”
“You’ll not be leaving this wood”
Called the oaks now strong and tall
Our purpose was to trap your
Evil soul behind our wall
So wand’ring in the woods
Is my eternal fate it seems
Possessed by Phoebe’s ghostly form and haunted by her dreams

On the trail of Anastacia in an ancient land
I heard rumors I could not believe or understand
Tales of a faery witch when freed would lead to gold
All you had to do was bring her back from times of old
Deep in an enchanted wood a threshold must be crossed
Many set off on this journey, every soul was lost
Setting out from warmth and safety I began my search
By the light of mid-day I had come upon a church
Desecrated ruins hid a relic and a rune
By the time I read their meaning hours past the noon
Knowing where to find her now I set off on my way
Hours later sunset fell as mist replaced the day
As the darkness fell completely I did search for her
While the moon so sickly sweet hid clues among the firs
Entering the forest stretching far as I could see
I was swallowed up and sealed from all I knew to be
Deeper still into the wood I lost all sense of time
Seven branches hid a door forbidden from my kind
I thencrossed that cursed threshold realized my plight
For I trespassed into age-old ground that glowed pale white
Calling out her name in Gaelic, French and then in Welsh
I now claimed the Anastacia only for myself
I retraced my steps with haste and found the threshold door
As I crossed she turned to dust and then became no more

Yet beside her a living ghostly pair
Hunting all who
Might be drawn to
